A Pandemic
Enter the unprecedented. What we pray against. The quintessence of communal misfortune. I reckon the world has seen several of these but somehow, we weren't ready. Which makes absolutely no sense when you think about it. Our species has advanced massively over time.We have put a man on the moon, we have an international space station, we have hyper-sonic weapons, we have built super computers, we have taken a photograph of the black hole at the center of our galaxy... I could go on and on. Covid-19 is like 2019 kicked a curler and we just watched wondering if it was going to go in and it did. It's one of those things you hope won't happen but they happen anyway and you're just like, oh well, shit. Planning for worst-case scenarios is the most pessimistic thing ever but it's necessary.
